Minigame Review #3: Dragon Escape
A game found on the classic Mineplex server, Dragon Escape is a parkour-based game were you maneuver over and past obstacles with a hungry Dragon named Douglass at your heels. If you fall, or get killed by Douglass, you're out. Last player standing wins.
The Mineplex server is an old one, and this game is an original. There are several maps, and they are all amazing- and amazingly hard. Dragon Escape is a tough game, so if you're a noob (meaning your new to the game), which there's no shame in, you'd better step back now.
Kits Here's a list of a list of all the kits within the game:
Kits Here's a list of a list of all the kits within the game:
Leaper Kit:
A great kit, the leaper kit is the default, that every one has. It gives you an iron axe that, when right-clicked, will blast you into the direction your pointing. This is great for clearing right over obstacles, but often backfires. The leap needs to recharge before you can use it again. TIP: The axe is mainly useful for skipping obstacles, not recovering from a fall.
Disruptor Kit:
The kit in the middle, the Disruptor kit gives the player who selects it two TNT, which, if placed, can help throw off other players.
Warper Kit:
A pricey kit for only the big dragon escape fans, the Warper Kit gives players, along with a leaper axe, an ender pearl that will warp them to the nearest player in front of them.
Digger Kit:
An achievement kit that is unlocked if you beat all the Dragon Escape achievements, each of which being very difficult to get. The digger kit lets you break blocks in the game, so you can break a block that a rival is standing on, or is about to go on. The Digger Kit is the only kit that doesn't give you the Leaper Axe. The Digger Kit also gives you a cobweb, some slabs, and some blocks for placing them in front of players in midair. These blocks are temporary, and disappear after a while. This kit and the Disruptor are the two offensive kits.

Maps Now that you've learned all about the kits, here's a list of all the maps in Dragon Escape:
Skylands
A stream of floating islands, Skylands is one of the two original maps (alongside 'Through Hell'). Skylands' islands are all biomes, and the map looks amazing thanks to its creators, who did a marvelous job creating the map and all of its secrets.
Through Hell
A Nether themed map, Through Hell is great, but difficult. It is much shorter than most other courses, but has countless challenging jumps, some of which nearly impossible without using a leap with your axe.
Pirate's Bay
A vast ocean filled with pirate ships and parkour, Pirate's Bay contains parkour on cannonballs, a shipwreck, an island, and treasure waiting for you at the end of the map. Don't fall into the water, it's deadly.
Frost Run
A snowy map, Frost Run is the a fan favorite. It contains icy parkour over deadly water, an epic rescue helicopter short cut, and a dark cave. Don't stop running!
Into The Jungle
A swampy village on top of water, Into the jungle is a difficult, yet epic map, that is very well done. It contains a narrow lava cave, two broken bridges, and some epic short cuts.
Lotus Crescent
An over sized garden, Lotus Crescent is filled with giant flowers, bees, and plants. This map is calming, that is, until you look behind you and see a giant sneering dragon at your heels. This map is great, possibly being one of the best dragon escape maps.
Time Travel
A dinosaur filled jungle, Time Travel is a great map, but is very difficult. Jumping from dinosaur scale to dinosaur scale, it has some difficult parkour. Though this map is filled with pterodactyls and big scaly Stegosauruses near the end, Time Travel has lots of tree and lily pad parkour at the beginning. Beware, water is deadly (as per usual).
Sandstorm
Among the most difficult maps, Sandstorm is extremely tough. It is not only long, but also has MANY four block wide jumps, as well as difficult secret passages that assist the daring. Don't play this map on your first dragon escape games, unless you are very confident in parkour.
Fungi Galore
A marvelous map, Fungi Galore is basically Mushroom Kingdom in the sky (But without Mario and Bowser). Fungi galore is a short Dragon Escape map, but it is very difficult. Don't underestimate the power of mushrooms!
A screenshot of the map 'Through Hell'. In this picture you can see Douglass the dragon destroying a staircase that players must sprint up.
The beautiful map, Lotus Crescent. Each floating island has a special parkour challenge on it.
